Director of Strategy

The position is responsible for the oversight of the strategic planning process for the Division and the ongoing measurement against the objectives.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Planning Process – Performs market sizing for services and business segments within the division. This involves in depth analysis of outsourcing rates for services and business segments. The position interprets statistical data from various sources and market trends, while identifying potential opportunities for new markets and/or services.

Completes a “SWOT” analysis of the division and our competitors. Organizes and manages a competitive intelligence system. Plays an active role in indentifying Client strengths and areas that separate the company from the competitions from a service, and value standpoint. Maintains communication with industry associations, consultants, and credit agencies to understand competitor behaviors and upcoming legislation that can impact the division.

Trains all constituencies on strategic planning, when necessary for the Client required templates, and timelines. Objective/outcome: A consistent strategic planning methodology is understood and adhered to across all levels of the organization

Lead cross-divisional work groups to support the building blocks of the strategy, grass roots and vision for specific division projects.
 

Monitors completion of all key decisions and action plans from the Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders.

Identifies best practices from the other divisions to discuss and makes recommendations on projects, cost savings ideas.

Participates in cross-functional or cross-divisional initiatives as requested

Strategic Alliances / Business Partner Selection

Plays an active role in comparing partners that have been sourced in the business development pipeline vs. a fit for Client’s value proposition,  mission and values. Monitors partners to identify strategic alliances vs. business partners, vs. possible acquisitions. 

 

 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field, and a Masters Degree preferred. 8 years of functional experience. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of contract services business.
• Mastery of strategic planning methodologies
• Must be knowledgeable in formal and best practices in marketing research and competitor research techniques and tools.
• Knowledge of information systems, financial planning, strategic planning, risk assessment and business development.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
• Executive presence, with the ability to relate to and consult and build consensus with members of management up and down the organization.
• Strong achievement motivation with commitment to producing measurable results, while maintaining integrity, loyalty and rapport with all constituencies.
• Strong project management skills and demonstrated success leading project teams.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals
• Ability to obtain results through a high degree of collaboration with the other departments.
• Extremely effective communication (both written and oral) skills.
• Ability to interface successfully with international entities, bridging both language and cultural barriers.
